What should I pin in November? This is a question we get a lot for each month of the year. What should I pin and when should I pin it?
November is jam packed with holiday and seasonal content. The entire platform transitions to holiday specific content. We have people searching for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas & New Years themed pins.
If you haven’t signed up for our Pinterest Strategy Guide & Trends Calendar you can do that now. If you are looking for help with your Pinterest whether you’d like a consultation or someone to manage your account you can find our services page here.
The holiday season is upon us and you may be wondering what the Pinterest trends for November are.
So let’s dive in!
November is the month that the decor switches from Halloween to a more festive look. Entryways and front doors turn into a more cozy vibe. Hygge, anyone?
Sports have started to kickoff which means more and more moms are looking for quick and easy weeknight dinner ideas. Those same mamas are breaking out the instant pot and crock pots and slowing down a bit as fall really starts kicking into high gear.
People are reaching for warmer outfits, hotter drinks, planning big meals and searching for travel planning ideas.
People are preparing for cooler temperatures by bringing out the fall fashion. Lighter jackets, plaid shirts, jeans and boots are all basics that come back into the smart feed year after year.
Many may even be looking for winter fashion now before they truly need it!
Thanksgiving prep is a big deal here in the States and if you’re anything like me you take this day pretty seriously. (Favorite holiday, hello!) I love to eat and so do the majority of Americans.
Preparing for the upcoming holiday season is going to include:
Pinners on average spend more money on gift giving than any other platform.1
Get prepared for the holiday gift giving season with what to buy for that special someone. This topic can cover any niche across Pinterest with ease.
Be prepared by gearing up for Black Friday & Cyber Monday shopping tips.
In 2018, there were more than 50 million people reported to be traveling more than 50 miles away from their home for Thanksgiving.2 That’s a lot of people out on the roads. They will be looking for places to stay, travel tips as well as car games for kids. These families will need tips on how to pack their bags, staying at other peoples homes and more.
Nothing speaks to me more in the fall than comfort foods. My Instant Pot gets more love than ever right now. People are also searching for a quick meal ideas, casserole recipes, appetizers and fall desserts like apple pie and pumpkin breads.
More small business owners like myself are looking for ways to invest in my business in the new year as well as ways to make a splash in the year end.
Goal planning is really starting to rise again in preparation for the new year. This actually starts to pick up around August & September but it continues to trend through the end of the year. With the heavy load of holiday planning and travel, people are needing to balance more planning.
This is the time to save money! Pinners are planning for all the gift shopping they will be doing as well as the food they will buy and the decor they need to make their home beautiful… so they are planning their budgets as well as everything else.
Pinterest trends for November even filter into promoting pins. If you are going to promote pins in November you likely should have started those campaigns earlier in October, but now is good too. As long as your campaign isn’t super evergreen you should be able to get it started and start driving traffic to your promotion.
My advice is if you are running a sale or hoping to generate leads and build page views during this season, get going on it in advance. Pinterest Ads need more than 7 days so if you are running a quick 48 hour sale this isn’t the time to start an ad.
Now is the time if you haven’t already started planning and creating your content for December. You should be publishing this content right now!
Holidays coming up are Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah & New Years. Get started on creating content specific to those holidays and trends around them now.
Start writing content around:
If it were me I’d even be planning for January and getting that content created now. Grab the Pinterest Strategy Checklist & Trends Calendar so you know what to create!
A lot of bloggers are sending traffic to posts with affiliate links during this season. That year-end income really helps year-end revenue.
This months action items are checking your affiliate links in your older posts that you plan to start promoting.
You are also going to want to start creating new images for those older posts and getting new descriptions written. While you’re at it go ahead and add these updated posts to your scheduling platforms.
