If you’re doing any of these mistakes on Pinterest and you’re not seeing the traffic you’d like to see then you need to STOP & re-evaluate.
This weeks video details the things you really need to stop doing so you can start to see the success on Pinterest you’d like to see more of.
It’s no secret that Pinterest can read your text overlays and if you don’t want to get lost in a sea of sameness then you really should use text on your pins.
This is an extra layer of categorization for your pins & it allows your potential audience to understand your pin before they ever click over to it.
Not to mention the best reason of all… it helps your pin stand out against the sea of sameness. Yes I repeated that because I want you to understand how crucial this is.
For the LOVE OF ALL THINGS PINTEREST… yes I just yelled at you in caps friend.
STOP pinning SQUARE IMAGES. Just stop.
They don’t stand out in the feed and your audience will scroll right past you.

Because your blog post title is optimized for Google you really want to use a different title on your text ovelays.
This will also help you to serve your audience with your pins based on their journey. I talk about this in my Pin Profit Academy in depth.
Your text overlay is valuable real estate & using your blog post title ONLY is like owning the penthouse apartment but living in the basement cellar with the creepy crawly spiders.
Start doing your research & creating pins with strategic text overlays.
Your audience wants to be told what to do. Not like the chick in the 50 shades book but definitely tell them what their next step is.
Your CTA on your pin images don’t need to be boring or passive like… learn more.
They can be…
It’t not rocket science friends… tell your people what you want them to do.
If you aren’t using all 500 characters in your description by this point… well I don’t know what to tell you.
Start using your description space. All of it. Pinterest SEO is important so read up on it if you’re confused.
You get 500 characters to write your description.
My suggestion is to write 5 sentences with 5 long-tail keywords that your audience will use to find your content.
Stop using broad keywords like “dinner recipes” and start using longer phrases like “easy weeknight family dinner recipes”.
This piece really isn’t your fault because you haven’t been properly taught this in any of your Pinterest courses you’ve taken.
Chances are none of the other Pinterest marketers are even talking about this.
But if you aren’t targeting your audience depending on their phase in the buyer/customer journey then you’re missing out.
Your avatar like you has a journey they have taken and depending on where they are in the journey their needs will be different.
This is the whole point of the Pin Profit Academy. Grab it right now for super cheap and start understanding your audience and their journey to find you.
