About Heather Farris >
You can schedule pins free without the need for paying for a scheduling tool until you absolutely need one. Do this with the new native Pinterest scheduler, the only free of all Pinterest approved schedulers.
This new scheduler started rolling out in August 2023, here is the direct link to it to check if you have access to it: pinterest.com/pin-creation-tool.
The new one is totally different. It is a unified pin builder where they took the Idea Pin Builder and the Standard Pin Builder and married them together, since Idea pins don’t really exist anymore.
Now, most people don’t even realize that there is actually a free native Pinterest Scheduler. All others Pinterest schedulers require paid subscriptions.
Most people know they can post pins on Pinterest and even use their mobile app to post pins right there. But many people miss that little radio button that says “Schedule for later”.
We will talk about the new pin builder in today’s post, and I am going to walk you through exactly how to use it in today’s tutorial. So without further ado, let’s get going through this simple guide because I know that’s why you are here, for the entire process.

Here are a few things before we get started on how to use this tool for the first time.
Very first thing, you want to have your pins ready to go, and your titles and descriptions written when you create these. One of the main reasons is so it doesn’t take you so much time.
Marketing can be difficult and trying to figure it out on your own, especially with Pinterest, can be overwhelming.
I will show you how to double your traffic and sales without spending another minute on social media!
PPA is the only comprehensive membership program & community for creating, marketing & selling your products & services using Pinterest.
Now there are a few pros and cons of the new native Pinterest scheduler I want to mention too.
One of the cons of the new builder is you cannot bulk schedule a bunch of pins all at once. So, in the old scheduler, you could bulk-schedule pins. You can’t do that in this new one. You can only upload one image or one video at a time. So that’s definitely a big con.
One of the pros to the new builder is you can schedule up to 30 days out instead of just the 12 to 14 days previously. And it saves your pins as drafts for that 30 days. If you follow my workflow system, which we discussed in a previous video, and upload your pins here, you can save them as drafts.
So, without further ado, let us go and schedule some Pinterest pins.

You can only schedule them one at a time, as I mentioned. I will upload one at a time because it is not going to let me do more than one.
Then you can upload all of them here if you want one after the next. Or you can wait for them to fully upload and then modify one at a time.
If you watch the video tutorial, you’ll see how I walk through this with my Pinterest System. Before I schedule pins, I have the Pinterest image, pre-written title and the pin descriptions already done. I also have the URL my pins will link to when published, all organized in one place.
Want the system to better manage your Pinterest strategy?
It’s all inside of our exclusive Pinterest System. This system was developed while managing hundreds of accounts, making scheduling and implementation more profitable overall.

Depending on your pins, you may have additional notes, supplies, or ingredients that you’ll list in the pin description, depending on your content. Nothing that I have to worry about, but that’s where you’d put it on your pin.
Always assign your pin to a board and add tagged topics, more on that below.

So tagged topics are a little bit of extra information for Pinterest to understand what your content is about. If you are struggling with finding tagged topics for your content, then I would suggest going to Pinterest analytics and popping into your “Audience Insights” under the “Analytics” tab. There you can see tagged topics based on interests and categories available on the platform.
So, for example, if we wanted to talk about business, I’m probably going to go into the education space and look here. I will probably also look at the design and possibly even finance.
I know that does not make a lot of sense. Now this is not going to give you a ton of ideas; however, it can definitely give you a start. These are topics that for sure exist as tags on the platform, so if they’re relevant, use them.
A place you can go to see what interests and categories are available on the platform is by creating a fake ad.
If you don’t see your general topic in the list, just type in the search bar. Everything breaks down deeper by levels, so something relevant for you may be farther down. You’ll have to dig a little, but it’s okay if your topic is perfectly exact, but still relevant.
Once you have added your tagged topics to your pin, you want to look at further optimizing Pinterest pins.

So all the different ways you optimize a Pinterest pin are based on putting keywords in your:
Make sure you use a main keyword in your pin text overlay. In my video example is with a pin that has a main keyword of “How to Pin Consistently”. So I include that keyword right on the design of the pin. Then I’ll put the same keywords in the pin title and description that matches, right inside of the native Pinterest scheduler.

Make sure you always include the URL you want the pin to go to, and select the most relevant board to pin it to.
This little toggle is how you publish it for later. So, make sure you pay attention to that. It’s easy to publish on accident before scheduling. Once you get in there, you’ll notice that you can only pin 30-minute increments throughout the day.
To find your scheduled pins, go into your Pinterest account, and view your profile. They should show up on the Created tab above all of your published pins. If you don’t see them, just do a hard refresh once you load your profile, and you can see your scheduled pins there.
If you want to edit a pin because you put something in it wrong, you scheduled it for the wrong time or day, all you have to do is click on it, open it up, make your changes, and make sure you save it by clicking “Done”.
Not everyone is able to actually edit the pins themselves once they’re scheduled. Some people have access to the new feature to edit the pin, but not everybody does. Everyone for sure can edit the details, but perhaps not the image itself. If you need to change the image and can’t edit it, you’ll have to upload a whole new pin.
When you’re logged into your Pinterest app on mobile, click the + button in the bottom. From here, you want to upload any of the content you want to schedule, just one pin or video already saved on your phone.
As I suggested before, I recommend you already have everything ready to go, the title and the description pre-written for you to just copy and paste.
You can edit your pin image or video and add some text overlay if needed, or adjust the video length. Then just paste your title and descriptions in.
Then make sure to add your link. So, whatever your link is, add it to your YouTube video, blog post, or product in your shop.
Under “Tag products”, if you want to, you can come in and tag any products that are for sale or talked about in that video. They have to be product pins already posted to Pinterest.
Also make sure to assign the pin to a board, and add any relevant topics, just like when scheduling on desktop.
Choose when to schedule your pin. It’s easier to not miss that right there at the bottom because it’s not a toggle, but a full fledged option.
That’s pretty much it. Then just click the “Schedule” button. You can see your scheduled pins right from your profile as well, like the same as on desktop. From there you can edit easily too.
You can also upload your Pinterest pins using the bulk scheduling feature on Pinterest directly for free. This feature allows you to customize your content, input it into a spreadsheet and upload it in bulk to Pinterest.
To get started you need a sample sheet or you can grab the sheet I put together for you with examples. You can grab it in my free resource library.
You are going to pre-write your Pin titles, descriptions, gather the link, the board you want to put it on and input your date and time you want it to publish and load those details into the sheet. Then you will head to your Pinterest settings and click “Bulk create Pins” and you will upload your CSV file inside.
Note: To download your spreadsheet as a CSV file click file > download and choose comma separated value and it will download to your desktop.
