July Pinterest Trends are coming at you today and if you haven’t started pinning for July yet you should start now. You may be wondering what you should be pinning though and that my friend is why I’m here yet again talking about trends.
Pinners come to Pinterest to find things that inspire their daily lives. They are looking for things to do, recipes to cook, projects to create… Pinners are planners so make sure you are pinning with the end user in mind.
If you haven’t signed up for our Pinterest Strategy Guide & Trends Calendar you can do that now. If you are looking for help with your Pinterest whether you’d like a consultation or someone to manage your account you can find our services page here.
Let’s dive into July and what you should be pinning during the upcoming summer months.
Summer is in full swing so it’s no surprise that Pinterest trends are hitting on all the things that makes summer, summer.
The patriotic summer activities, BBQs, family gatherings, fireworks, swimming, camping and more.
It’s time to start really planning for the next phase of summer just like your pinners!
Most states are coming out of quarantine and families are starting to get together again. We just wrapped up Memorial Day and BBQs are getting in full swing.
Whether it’s the normal BBQs we usually attend with swimming and laser tag they’re happening in some form or another.
Not only that but the searches for BBQ are up big time which tells me pinners aren’t waiting to have a party to throw their meat on the grill and crack open a cold one.
A lot of families are looking for activities for their kids to do outside of the home.
Summer activities help to keep kids busy and off screens… I’m sure any moms reading this right now feel my pain with keeping their kids busy during those long summer days.
Kids activities in the summer are a great way to create content, videos and pins right now.
Summer weddings are in full swing as well. They may look different this year with Covid-19 but brides are still planning their weddings. From the dresses to the flowers and food this is the time to take a look at that wedding content. Just remember if you are in this space to listen to your audience and serve them where they are right now.
I’m not sure about you but I wholeheartedly enjoy summer garden months. Not because I grow a garden but because I love buying from those who do.
This is a total quarantine friendly activity and my family & friends are in full swing with their gardens.
Flower gardening goes into this as well!
As people get confident in traveling again they are going to start searching for family vacation destinations. They may not even be planning big vacations but they’re still looking for ways to get out of the house and soak up some different scenery.
Camping is a big search term right now and that could be a simple family vacation for families who aren’t ready to really do the whole vacation this year.
Summer outfits, hair and makeup are here to stay until pumpkin spice season begins. This is your time to shine if you are in this space.
We went through a phase in the Spring where people were at home a lot and during that time really started to identify what they didn’t like about their homes. Now they are looking for decor and remodeling ideas to make their space more at home.
Now is the time if you haven’t already started planning and creating your content for July. You should be publishing this content right now!
Holidays coming up are July 4th parties, summer activities for kids, gardening, grilling and more. Get started on creating content specific to those trends around them now.
Start writing content around:
These are just a few ideas but hopefully they will get your wheels turning around content you can create for your audience.
If it were me I’d even be planning for January and getting that content created now. Grab the Pinterest Strategy Checklist & Trends Calendar so you know what to create!
Pinterest trends for July even filter into promoting pins. As long as your campaign isn’t super evergreen you should be able to get it started and start driving traffic to your promotion without much of the testing phase that usually takes place.
My advice is if you are running a sale or hoping to generate leads and build pageviews during this season, get going on it in advance. Pinterest Ads need more than 7 days so if you are running a quick 48 hour sale this isn’t the time to start an ad.
Clean up your blog posts that are going to be a big hit during the Summer. Check for broken links and see if you can create an opt-in specific to that post. That’s called a content upgrade and it’s specific to each post.
You are also going to want to start creating new images for those older posts and getting new descriptions written. While you’re at it go ahead and add these updated posts to your scheduling platforms.
