About Heather Farris >
Are you looking to claim your website on Pinterest? You have a few options to do so and the website platform doesn’t matter so much.
Open your domain name website and navigate to “advanced DNS” settings. This is what Namecheap looks like.
Then open Pinterest and choose head to claimed external accounts.
Scroll down and click the claim button to the right of “websites” and when this box pops up click “add TXT record” and it should copy to your clipboard.
Head back to Namecheap or your domain name host and we are going to add some details.
First, your host record is going to need a few details besides what you just copied.
Choose a TXT record type from the drop down.
If your host requires it put an @ symbol in the Host Name field.
Then paste the value you copied from Pinterest in the value field.
Click save and then head back to Pinterest.
Put in your domain name on the verify screen that pops up and you’ll see the connected alert on the next page. You’re all set.
Follow the steps above until you get to the domain name host portion. Click “add HTML tag” and copy the value to your clipboard. Then head to your website builder and find your header.
Add the HTML tag to your website header and click save. Then head back to your Pinterest account, input your domain name and click verify as the images show above.
We have 2 other tutorials for other website platforms as well.

Heather went to school for accounting and worked for years in banking and finance. After finding all of that entirely too boring she started her first blog in her basement in August of 2016. She has started 3 blogs in the marketing, motherhood and travel niches and used Pinterest to grow them all. She quickly became a Pinterest Educator & strategist in her peer circles and has been implementing strategies, driving traffic and sales through organic and paid tactics for her clients. On this blog and her YouTube channel she educates the public about clear and transparent marketing strategies to help them to grow on Pinterest and in other places online. You can also find Heather contributing directly to Pinterest as a Pinterest Educator.
